Eduarda Semba
CLASS TEACHER
My name is Eduarda Semba, and I am Mozambican. I have been living in Hungary since 2018 fall, so almost 5 years. I moved here to pursue a BA in International Relations at METU and I graduated in January 2022. I chose to study international relations because I wanted to understand the world and why people are the way they are.
Before moving to Hungary, I used to tutor early years helping them learn English as they were native Portuguese speakers. In addition, during high school holidays I would help with the early years at the primary school I had attended, essentially working as an assistant teacher. I did this for 2 years simply because I enjoyed it, it was fantastic getting to know the children, playing with them, and of course watching them grow.
Looking back this may have been the moment I should have realized I should become a teacher. Nevertheless, it did contribute to the creation of my biggest dream in life. My dream is hopefully one day to open a home/school where I will be able to offer children from less fortunate backgrounds the opportunities I was fortunate enough to have. I aim to be a stepping stone for our future (the children).
I love to travel, meet new people, and try new foods. I am a writer and an artist in my free time. I learnt to play piano, recorder and guitar and still do just not as well as I used to. My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. I desire to create this type of atmosphere where the children feel safe, a home away from home.
